Significant steps were taken recently with the official groundbreaking for the QuikTrip new development in River Oaks Texas. Mayor Herman Earwood noted in remarks, before the shovels were lifted and the dirt went flying at 9:00 A.M. October 4th, that this effort to attract the QuikTrip took everyone working together and understanding the importance of the new investment. Jake Barron, Real Estate Manager for QuikTrip, was very appreciative of the community support. Jake had noted that this new store is a new prototype for QuikTrip. “This new QuikTrip Generation III convenience store/restaurant with gasoline service will feature a made to order barista with specialty coffees as well as ice cream and smoothies. “ Jake Barron indicated that the store should be open in the second quarter of 2013 or early Spring. JoAnn Gordon, President of the River Oaks Economic Development Corporation provided comment on the efforts the Corporation put forth to encourage this investment and to thank QuikTrip.
